The Bureau of Indian Standards adoptedthis Indian Standard after the Textile Division Council approved the draftfinalized by the Man-Made Fibres, Cotton, and Their Products SectionalCommittee. Polyester spun yarns are produced by ring spinning, open-endspinning, or airjet/vortex spinning 100% polyester staple (cut) fibres. Thisstandard defines the requirements for all types of 100% polyester spun single,double, and multifold yarns made from virgin polyester fibres. It is mandatoryto have ISI Mark on the products to sell in the Indian Market and avoid thepenalty as per the government norms.
